For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (B.I.B.L.E.) Weekly Memory Verse format:
We are to memorize this verse, then come back the following week with this:
1) Write our verse by memory, and remember to memorize the reference (where it's found)
2) Comment on how God spoke to you through this verse,
and then move on to a new verse.
Each week while you are memorizing, allow God to speak to you personally & share a little of what you learn or receive on each verse the following week, when you type it by memory. It's fine to just be accountable and share your progress but it becomes more meaningful when we share about the verse together or apply it to ourselves of what we think God meant.
My thoughts on this verse:
This is one of the most well-known verses in the Bible. Even those who don't know the Bible know this verse. It is seen at various sporting events.
But what does this mean to me?
To me, this verse means that God loves me (and you) so much that He was willing to send His only Son to earth to live and die for me. He did this so that we could become closer to God, bridging the gap that had been created between mankind and God.
He did this so that we could know wholeness --in our bodies, our souls, our spirits, our entire lives.
I don't know anyone on this earth who would actually die for me, but Jesus did. He took the weight of the guilt of the entire world upon Himself and suffered for me.
That's true love.
Jesus certainly didn't do this because we deserve or even earned this. We could never even come close. He did this because He loves us.
God loves the entire world, and this love requires a response from us. We either accept this love from God or reject it.
How do we accept God's love? There is only one way--believe in the fact that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, for our salvation, for forgiveness of our sins, our hope for eternal life spent with Him.
If you decide to accept Jesus' love for you--maybe today will be the first time that you pray this prayer of salvation--- just say:
God,
I thank You today for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to earth to live and die for me. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me so that I may have forgiveness of my sins and eternal life spent with You. I gratefully receive the gift of Your salvation and redemption today and every day of my life. I respond to Your great love for me by lifting You up with continual praise and loving You with all my heart forever.
Amen

We are moving into Week 14 with our memory work from "Embracing the Word". These are memory cards that are like a deck of playing cards but with memory verses written on them. There are 52 cards in a deck so that gives us one for each week.
Some people are making a deck of cards from their own deck of playing cards so that is the only reason that the suit (spade, club, heart, diamond) is mentioned so their cards will be like the original deck "Embracing the Word".
This week our card is the Jack of Clubs:
Jesus Is the Light of the World
"Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." John 8:12 (NASB)
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12 (NIV)
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
John 8:12 (NIV)

What are your thoughts on last week's verse? I really would like to read what you have thought about this week while memorizing this verse.
And If you prayed the prayer of salvation, please let me know so that we may continue to pray for you.

Blessings Beth...Great reflections on what John 3:16 means! How amazing is His Love! He is my Messiah...Emmanuel..."God with us"!
I'm so thankful for His GREAT love!
How did I miss this fantastic opportunity to offer this as a way for anyone to PRAY for their salvation? This is what it's all about!
You have been away too long...
already! Clearly this was the OPEN DOOR to share Jesus! Beth, you are one true minister & messenger of His Word & His love! We need you
to share "The Power of His Love"
in the only way you do so uniquely.
You take the profound & make it simple. Understandable! The plan is right there. How do we accept His love? There's the key! There's the door to Heaven!
AWESOME!
(we work well together longdistance ...I removed me & shortened the video to fit, and fixed some variations that were in the print but what you did,was complete the masterpiece!)
Beautiful my friend.
Great job breaking down this verse my friend!
Thank you for doing this each week!
Love & blessings,
Beth
Hi Beth,
It was so good to hear from you. I'm so behind on my memory verses. :-) But not behind on what God has me learning which is A LOT. Love the post!
