MEMORIES and THE POWER OF HIS LOVE

I'd like to share with you how this blog came to be.

I pray daily--many, many times a day. I pray for others, for myself, for situations, thanks and praise. I was visiting someone else's blog one day, and I saw that she had a prayer journal, and I thought to myself, "What a good idea!"

As I thought on this, the idea flourished into inviting others to share in this experience. Thus, the beginnings of "The Power of Your Love".

This will be a blog where you can address prayer requests, praises, what are your concerns, joys, sorrows. You could contribute a poem that you may have written, a picture that you love that depicts your love of our Lord, a video, a scripture that is particularly meaningful to you and why, anything that is given to the glory of God.

I have several people who have expressed interest in this, and I am going to be inviting them as authors. If you happen to come across this and would like to be included, please let me know.

And now--my first prayer request:

My Father,

As we begin, I ask your blessings upon this venture. Please utilize this spot to glorify your name, and your name alone. All things have come from you, and I lift up my praise and love to you on this day and everyday of my life.

In Jesus' precious name I pray,

Amen

~ written by sailorcross 9/13/08

I recently went back and read what 'sailorcross' wrote upon starting this blog. Isn't it beautiful? Doesn't it just about cover so much of the Power of His love.

I did not come on board until much later (the last of the crew here) and then she and I started "The Lighthouse of Prayer" together to do just what she had hoped to do here.
I found out back at this time, that she is particularly fond of lighthouses and so our Lighthouse was launched together. There is so much power in God's love and in His Light. He shines His Light in our darkness and reveals, if we listen, to how we can go forth in His Light and escape the darkness. A lighthouse has a purpose to guide the sailors to a safe place. Our Lighthouse of Prayer also has that purpose to guide the lost, the broken, the hurting, the sick, to a Safe Place, the Light of our world - Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He came to be a Light to us and hoped that we would be a light to others, when they may be lost, may be shipwrecked, may be going through a storm or when they just need to find the Rock, a Safe Place, a Refuge to wait it out.
I just felt that it is important to reflect and be His light and lead you once again to read about the beginnings of "The Power of Your Love"! Because although the Power of God's Love is the most important, He calls on each one of us to share that power that comes from His Love and His Light with others.
This is the importance of the Power. We all must be connected to the Source which gives us this power. The power is given to us through Jesus Christ and by His Spirit. But as the words to the song say, "Lord, I come to You..." we must first come to Him. Surrender to Him completely. Let go of whatever is hindering us or being an obstacle in us to move ahead in our journey. FORGIVENESS is the place where this LOVE is released and shines best (as you can see this word with the folded hands of prayer in this blog's header).
The next line in the song is "let my heart, be changed, renewed
..." which is only possible by the grace found in Our Lord (the next part of the song). We must change, we must be renewed, but if we could do this on our own, why don't we? Because we need Him. We need the Lord and His grace to change us and free us from anything and everything that is hindering us from walking by faith, in His power, authority and strength daily. Yes, daily we must say, "Not my will, but Thine." I surrender all to You this day! Let's start fresh!

And we can, and we do, BY THE POWER OF HIS LOVE and Grace as we "come to know" Him and His Grace, "the weaknesses" that He sees in us "will be stripped away" by the POWER OF HIS LOVE!

We (I) have posted this song many times on this blog with different videos. Yet, I will share for my last time, my most recent favorite of "The Power of Your Love" ... and let's allow His Spirit to melt these words into our hearts as our prayer every day... until we see Him "face to face" may the knowledge of His Love as He "lives in us, renew our minds" as His "will unfolds in our lives" in LIVING EVERY DAY BY THE POWER OF HIS LOVE!

THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE

[*I'm reposting this video today and linking with SOS, also to make an announcement for December]

done by the
UPWARD CALL
Verse of the Day

"His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises."
2 Peter 1:3-4

MAY THE POWER OF HIS LOVE
DRAW YOU
CLOSER
TODAY!

I love this song, and it was the Verse of the Day done once again by (oparisg)
Upward Call back in Sept., yet it seems perfect for the upcoming praise and focus I plan on doing for all of December (similar to last year's "31 Days of Praise").

I am sharing Shannon Ethridge's devotional "Completely Loved: Recognizing God's  Passionate Pursuit of Us" and focusing on special aspects of His character (like last year) which was my intention when I started blogging with the hope of looking at the Names of God and His character, which are interspersed throughout this blog and my other blogs... even in the header I did over at aMazing Grace ~ Mazes, Messes, Miracles. When I thought about "COMPLETELY LOVED", I immediately thought of THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE

how could I not...

So I do hope that you will JOIN me in December to see God and His love for you, wrapped in a special package, and designed just for you as "Completely His" (the first book of Shannon's) diving into a deeper intimacy with our heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus Christ... who humbled Himself to be born in a stable, to save us and give us eternal life and so much more... "Loving Jesus Without Limits" a wonderful series by Shannon Ethridge. This was a very special gift from a dear sister for my birthday and I am so grateful for her.

Did  I mention that YOU ARE COMPLETELY LOVED by God ... and can be COMPLETELY HIS too!

Come join us over at Soaking on Sonday! Soak in the POWER OF HIS LOVE!

And if you know Beth(sailorcross)(warmharte) or even if you don't, you should - Sunday is her birthday, send her some love and best wishes for a wonderful birthday! Let's flood her with the POWER OF GOD'S LOVE and prayers!

Comments are off, since many of you visit me at SOS! I just wanted you to soak and know THE POWER OF HIS LOVE

FAITH to MOVE MOUNTAINS

"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,'
and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen,
it will be done for him.
Mark 11:23

What kind of faith does it take to move your mountain?

“We all have mountains to climb and mountains to move.  Jesus taught His disciples that if they had faith, they could move mountains.  You can too.  When you place your faith, your trust, indeed your life in the hands of Christ Jesus, you’ll be amazed at the marvelous things He can do..." WFW ~ THE PROMISE of GOD

[source] credit Trevor Bowers
"...our faith in God's promises can increase day by day, year by year. These present words offer helpful insight into being strengthened in faith regarding God’s promises. It is so often the case that the circumstances we are in, cast doubt upon the promises God has made." ~ Christian Images...

Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say, "It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child." Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right." But it's not just Abraham; it's also us!    The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God.

Revelation 11:11  (King James Version)
And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them,
and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

WFW ~ HE WEPT

THE COMPASSIONATE TEARS
of
JESUS CHRIST
"Jesus wept"

The Bible records 3 times that Jesus wept, although He probably wept many, many times.

1. Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus in John 11:35. "Jesus Wept." (Here we see the sympathy of Jesus). He wept from sympathy with the grief of others.
2. Jesus wept in the Garden of Gethsemane as He approached the hour of the cross.
"And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.Luke 22:44
3. Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem in Luke 19:41. The tears of Christ as He wept over Jerusalem were for the sins of all time.
"As He approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it..."

"And God shall wipe away all TEARS from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor CRYING, neither shall there be any more pain." Such is the condition of the New Jerusalem––the new earth and the new heaven in which the risen and glorified saints will dwell and reign for ever with Jesus at His coming. "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces." (Isaiah 25:8).

Last year I shared "the 7 Last Words of Jesus Christ" in my WFW. Yet after spending these "40 days away in prayer" and having spent far too much time in tears, this past year in grief like the loved ones of Lazarus, I find that not only the PASSION of Jesus moves me, but the COMPASSION of His love and tears deeply impact each tear I've shed, knowing that Jesus intimately knows these tears, impacts me as much as HIS 7 LAST SENTENCES; these TWO WORDS ~ JESUS WEPT...

He holds our tears, He knows each fear... this is why I believe, He's near and ever so dear, He's HERE... and HE HEARS. Give your tears to Jesus, let them fill His cup, feel the compassion of His immense Love, and know the eternal embrace He offers us in our deepest lows... He knows

LET US REMEMBER

Lord, we remember as we break bread and drink the cup to commemorate Your Last Supper, the words from this song that You gave Your life on that brutal cross, broken and beautiful, such extravagant love, prodigal grace, mercies embrace, God's perfect justice and redemption plan.
...This is the way You've chosen to say
This is the way You make all things new...
Thank You seems hardly adequate yet we surrender our lives and even weep with You. Thank You Lord Jesus for paying our ransom price and nailing our sin to the cross. Thank You for Your victory over sin and death! Thank You for the Glory of the Resurrection and the power over the grave. You won! Hallelujah! You triumph over the enemy! You will wipe away tears from all faces.Glory to the blessed Name and the precious blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He is risen! Hallelujah!

WFW ~ SPLASH in HIS GLORY

ARE YOU THIRSTY?
Come and Drink

JOHN 7: 37-38

Since I began my "40 Days Away 2 Pray", I encountered "40 Days of Worship and Seeking the Lord Together" with Campus Crusade for Christ International. This is the 3rd phase of their "prayer journey": Pathway to Dependence (April 6th-April 15th).
Before this was: Pathway to Attentiveness (March 27-April 5th)
preceded by Pathway to Intimacy (March 17-27th).

[The image of the person's hands in the RAIN is from CCCI's "Pathway of Dependence" and I overlayed it over the verse from Crosscards.com of John 7:37-38 to blend it together as mine].
I feel the downpour of a refreshing "rain" as I immerse myself in Him and His Word. I allow His Word to soak and wash over me like a cool rain. Splashing in the JOY of what growth will come from the reign of Jesus Christ in me. I thirst, I seek, I come, I drink and the Scriptures say..."streams of Living Water will flow from within me..." and so I SPLASH in each drop of His glory. Hallelujah! I am dependent on Jesus Christ! I will be attentive and intimate in my prayers.

Dependence: "the state of relying on or being controlled by someone or something else." (Concise English Dictionary)

Attentive: "a) the act or state of applying the mind to something, b) a condition of readiness for such attention involving especially a selective narrowing or focusing of consciousness and receptivity." (Miriam Webster Dictionary)

Intimacy (Random House Dictionary): A close familiar, usually affectionate or loving personal relationship; a close association or detailed knowledge or deep understanding; the quality of being comfortable, warm or familiar.

SOAK in these words and let them rain freshly on your sweet spirit as we draw near to the lover of our souls, Jesus Christ. As Holy Friday tells us that Resurrection Sunday is coming...

...are you on a pathway of INTIMACY, ATTENTIVENESS and DEPENDENCE on Him?

Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge Him.
As surely as the sun rises,
He will appear;
He will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.
Hosea 6:3

LEAD ME

SANCTUS REAL
[Sanctus Real is looking for people to share their story of "Redemption" for their new song REDEEMER]
I thought about sharing that song but God led me to this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGE6Davndh0

...Father, give me the strength
To be everything I'm called to be
Oh, Father, show me the way
To lead them
Won't You lead me?

To lead them with strong hands
To stand up when they can't
Don't want to leave them hungry for love,
Chasing things that I could give up

I'll show them I'm willing to fight
And give them the best of my life
So we can call this our home
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

Father, lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

" ... AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL ... "

"From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
"
Psalm 61:2
THE LORD IS MY ROCK!

... You Lead me beside STILL waters,
You restore my soul...
You lead me in right paths for Your name's sake...
Psalm 23:2b-3

Part of an email of Psalm 23 that I received from Alice ... Though I had received it before, this time, these PARTS stood out to me...

"He leadeth me beside the still waters" = That's Refreshment!
"He restoreth my soul" = That's Healing!

"He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness" = That's Guidance!

"For His name's sake" = That's Purpose!

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD!

THAT IS
RELATIONSHIP

I'm thankful that Psalm 23 speaks to me of RELATIONSHIP, SUPPLY, REST, REFRESHMENT, HEALING, GUIDANCE, PURPOSE, TESTING, PROTECTION, FAITHFULNESS, DISCIPLINE, HOPE, CONSECRATION, ABUNDANCE, BLESSING, SECURITY, ETERNITY...

and
"I SHALL NOT WANT"

...what more could I want or ask for than the above that Jesus provides...

Looking for the "green pastures" today,
why not join us over at

WFW ~ REDEMPTION

7-10 "Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, His blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we're a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth."
