I'd like to share with you how this blog came to be. I pray daily--many, many times a day. I pray for others, for myself, for situations, thanks and praise. I was visiting someone else's blog one day, and I saw that she had a prayer journal, and I thought to myself, "What a good idea!" As I thought on this, the idea flourished into inviting others to share in this experience. Thus, the beginnings of "The Power of Your Love". This will be a blog where you can address prayer requests, praises, what are your concerns, joys, sorrows. You could contribute a poem that you may have written, a picture that you love that depicts your love of our Lord, a video, a scripture that is particularly meaningful to you and why, anything that is given to the glory of God. I have several people who have expressed interest in this, and I am going to be inviting them as authors. If you happen to come across this and would like to be included, please let me know. And now--my first prayer request: My Father, As we begin, I ask your blessings upon this venture. Please utilize this spot to glorify your name, and your name alone. All things have come from you, and I lift up my praise and love to you on this day and everyday of my life. In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen ~ written by sailorcross 9/13/08 |

WFW ~ THE PROMISE of GOD
[source] credit Trevor Bowers
"...our faith in God's promises can increase day by day, year by year. These present words offer helpful insight into being strengthened in faith regarding God’s promises. It is so often the case that the circumstances we are in, cast doubt upon the promises God has made." ~ Christian Images...
Abraham didn't focus on his own impotence and say, "It's hopeless. This hundred-year-old body could never father a child." Nor did he survey Sarah's decades of infertility and give up. He didn't tiptoe around God's promise asking cautiously skeptical questions. He plunged into the promise and came up strong, ready for God, sure that God would make good on what he had said. That's why it is said, "Abraham was declared fit before God by trusting God to set him right." But it's not just Abraham; it's also us! The same thing gets said about us when we embrace and believe the One who brought Jesus to life when the conditions were equally hopeless. The sacrificed Jesus made us fit for God, set us right with God. Romans 4:19-25 ~ The Message |

Lord, we remember as we break bread and drink the cup to commemorate Your Last Supper, the words from this song that You gave Your life on that brutal cross, broken and beautiful, such extravagant love, prodigal grace, mercies embrace, God's perfect justice and redemption plan.
The Bible records 3 times that Jesus wept, although He probably wept many, many times.
1. Jesus wept at the tomb of Lazarus in John 11:35. "Jesus Wept." (Here we see the sympathy of Jesus). He wept from sympathy with the grief of others.
2. Jesus wept in the Garden of Gethsemane as He approached the hour of the cross.
"And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground." Luke 22:44
3. Jesus wept over the city of Jerusalem in Luke 19:41. The tears of Christ as He wept over Jerusalem were for the sins of all time.
"As He approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it..."
"And God shall wipe away all TEARS from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor CRYING, neither shall there be any more pain." Such is the condition of the New Jerusalem––the new earth and the new heaven in which the risen and glorified saints will dwell and reign for ever with Jesus at His coming. "He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces." (Isaiah 25:8).
Last year I shared "the 7 Last Words of Jesus Christ" in my WFW. Yet after spending these "40 days away in prayer" and having spent far too much time in tears, this past year in grief like the loved ones of Lazarus, I find that not only the PASSION of Jesus moves me, but the COMPASSION of His love and tears deeply impact each tear I've shed, knowing that Jesus intimately knows these tears, impacts me as much as HIS 7 LAST SENTENCES; these TWO WORDS ~ JESUS WEPT...
He holds our tears, He knows each fear... this is why I believe, He's near and ever so dear, He's HERE... and HE HEARS. Give your tears to Jesus, let them fill His cup, feel the compassion of His immense Love, and know the eternal embrace He offers us in our deepest lows... He knows

LET US REMEMBER
...This is the way You've chosen to say
This is the way You make all things new...
This is the way You make all things new...
Thank You seems hardly adequate yet we surrender our lives and even weep with You. Thank You Lord Jesus for paying our ransom price and nailing our sin to the cross. Thank You for Your victory over sin and death! Thank You for the Glory of the Resurrection and the power over the grave. You won! Hallelujah! You triumph over the enemy! You will wipe away tears from all faces.Glory to the blessed Name and the precious blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. He is risen! Hallelujah!

WFW ~ SPLASH in HIS GLORY
ARE YOU THIRSTY?
Come and Drink
JOHN 7: 37-38
Since I began my "40 Days Away 2 Pray", I encountered "40 Days of Worship and Seeking the Lord Together" with Campus Crusade for Christ International. This is the 3rd phase of their "prayer journey": Pathway to Dependence (April 6th-April 15th).
Before this was: Pathway to Attentiveness (March 27-April 5th)
preceded by Pathway to Intimacy (March 17-27th).
[The image of the person's hands in the RAIN is from CCCI's "Pathway of Dependence" and I overlayed it over the verse from Crosscards.com of John 7:37-38 to blend it together as mine].
I feel the downpour of a refreshing "rain" as I immerse myself in Him and His Word. I allow His Word to soak and wash over me like a cool rain. Splashing in the JOY of what growth will come from the reign of Jesus Christ in me. I thirst, I seek, I come, I drink and the Scriptures say..."streams of Living Water will flow from within me..." and so I SPLASH in each drop of His glory. Hallelujah! I am dependent on Jesus Christ! I will be attentive and intimate in my prayers.
Dependence: "the state of relying on or being controlled by someone or something else." (Concise English Dictionary)
Attentive: "a) the act or state of applying the mind to something, b) a condition of readiness for such attention involving especially a selective narrowing or focusing of consciousness and receptivity." (Miriam Webster Dictionary)
Intimacy (Random House Dictionary): A close familiar, usually affectionate or loving personal relationship; a close association or detailed knowledge or deep understanding; the quality of being comfortable, warm or familiar.
SOAK in these words and let them rain freshly on your sweet spirit as we draw near to the lover of our souls, Jesus Christ. As Holy Friday tells us that Resurrection Sunday is coming...
...are you on a pathway of INTIMACY, ATTENTIVENESS and DEPENDENCE on Him?
Let us acknowledge the LORD;
let us press on to acknowledge Him.
As surely as the sun rises,
He will appear;
He will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.
let us press on to acknowledge Him.
As surely as the sun rises,
He will appear;
He will come to us like the winter rains,
like the spring rains that water the earth.

LEAD ME
To be everything I'm called to be
Oh, Father, show me the way
To lead them
Won't You lead me?
To lead them with strong hands
To stand up when they can't
Don't want to leave them hungry for love,
Chasing things that I could give up
I'll show them I'm willing to fight
And give them the best of my life
So we can call this our home
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone
Father, lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone
I call as my heart grows faint;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

WFW ~ REDEMPTION
7-10 "Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, His blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we're a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth."
