It's Monday, so this is the day we see how well we did our memory verse for this week. Now, you all know that I have been very busy this week moving things, so I hope I come through with this. I'm certainly going to give this a try:
For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God with your body.....1 Corinthians 6:20 (NASB)
Well, I'll admit that I knew this verse before, but as I've said I have difficulty remembering where in Scripture verses are located. I've gotten this correctly, so my goal was met!
We certainly have been purchased for a price--an amount we could never afford to pay on our own. This price is the very life of Our Savior, Jesus Christ. God sacrificed His own Son for us! When I think of this, sacrificing my child for someone, I just become overwhelmed.
I tend to think of this sacrifice in the love that I feel for my own son--how full and complete this is and how I would feel if he were the one I had to offer as a sacrifice.
I imagine that God looked at this world and was saddened beyond belief--the beauty of His creation, and there is man going his own way, very few following God's Will for them.
And at just the right time, He sent His Son to save us--so that we can have a closer relationship with Him, come to Him with anything and everything, seek His forgiveness, His mercy and grace.
Since we were purchased at such a great price, God has asked us to glorify Him with our bodies. Our bodies are God's temples, and we need to take care how we treat and display our temple to others.
This includes what we put into our bodies, how we clothe our bodies, our words, our actions, our love for others. All of these are to be done to glorify God, not ourselves.
We are the bride (yes, even the men!) and Christ is the bridegroom. The bridegroom anxiously awaits His bride. What would we like the bridegroom to see and hear and feel about us?
I try to remember this when I know that something is not pleasing to God. Would this glorify God in my own temple, my own body? If the answer is no, then I know that this is something I should not be doing or partaking of.
I found a video that I would like to share with you. It is called "My Heart, Your Home". When I watched this video, this specific verse came to my mind. If my heart is God's home, shouldn't I be using my heart to be the very best place for Him to dwell? Shouldn't I be doing everything I can to glorify God in everything I do so that others may see Him through me?

Listen to God speak to you while you watch the video. I know He spoke to me.
So, now we'll move on to next week's memory verse. Let me get my "Embracing the Word" cards, and here we go!!
This week is the ace of diamonds, and it is a bit longer than last week's:
If my people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land......2 Chronicles 7:14 (NASB)

Beautiful take on this verse sweetie.

amen amen amen
Beautiful Beth...how radiant the bridegroom awaiting His Bride! What a beautiful way to remind us how our bodies are the temple of His Holy Spirit living in us!
Wherever we go, whatever we do
...His Holy Spirit goes through it too!
What we listen to, watch, participate in, surround ourselves with, all the input becomes the output...and ohhhh how sad when we grieve the spirit! Discipline, exercise, practice, put what you learn into ACTION...not just store
it...even in memory just isn't enough...head knowledge needs to be
taken to the HEART & given from that part deep within!
That our hearts would be His home!
What kind of HOME would you want to live in? Let's reflect on how our "home" reflects who we are and ALL our desires & hopes! So why wouldn't Our Lord want His home in each of us to be the same: His Hope, His Desires, His Purpose!
Portuguese??? I loved the art in the video and wanted to see more!
And of course, I love Hillsong singing such a very appropriate song! I did add a little on my post for BIBLE Weekly Memory Verse. I believe that as we learn the verse God works it in us and also in what we put out...throughout our writings, choices, living. I had to even add another song at the end...
because it naturally welled up from within...come check it out...you don't have to comment...just listen & enJOY! Hard to find this recorded professionally...can't even think who did it? Happy Monday and thanks for the ACE of diamonds...my favorite life verse!!!
beautiful verse,,,,yes amen!!
I will work on this today
