Weekly Memory Verse

It's Monday again and time for our Weekly Memory Verse. Where does the week go?

So, let's see how well I did with last week's verse. I think it was a fairly easy one:

Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.....Psalm 119:11 (NASB)

This verse is precisely the reason why I started memorizing Scripture and invited all of you along on my journey. I wanted to be able to carry God's Word with me in my heart at all times, following His lead and direction for me throughout every moment of my day.

How many times did I encounter a person or a situation in my day-to-day life, and I would think to myself "I know there is a Scripture about this"--but where and what is it exactly?

To further look into this, let's examine the definition of the word

TREASURE

  • To retain carefully or keep in store, as in the mind
  • To regard or treat as precious, cherish
  • To put away for security or future use

God's Word is the truth, and we would do well to hold it close to our hearts and minds. His Word is precious to me--guiding me through my life, moment by moment.

Let's place God's Word in our hearts and minds together.

Now, let's move on to next week's verse which is the Queen of Spades from the "Embracing the Word" cards:

I am the LORD, and there is no other; besides Me there is no God: I will gird you, though you have not known Me.....Isaiah 45:5 (NASB)

I invite all who stop by to join in on this journey. There is no better way to draw closer to God than placing and treasuring His Word, His truths in your hearts and minds.

If you are participating, please let me know by using Mr. Linky below, and I'll stop back and visit you when I return from work today.

Have a wonderful day IN HIM!!

Good morning Sister! I have been out of town and I'm so behind on everything, but I HAD to find out my new scripture for this week. I can hardly wait until Mondays. Again, THANK YOU for doing this.

I'm glad you shared the definition of treasure! God's Word is so precious and we do need it for future use!

Bless you!

This is a beautiful verse! I to want to carry God's word always in my heart, and to share with others as well, if I have it in my heart I will share it too. Amen!

Have a beautiful and blessed week :)
