Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday at Truth 4 the Journey

I'm joining with Sonya for "Thankful Thursday". Be sure and stop by and visit her to see what everyone is thankful for this week. Maybe this will be the week that you decide to join and list just a few of the things that you are thankful for.

My thankfuls this week:

  • I am thankful that God is opening doors for me in a mission that has been placed in my heart for quite a while. The doors are beginning to open in this direction, doors that only God could open. He has a plan for this mission. I feel this in my heart. Lord, help me and the others involved in this ministry to hear Your voice and follow Your Will for this mission. Guide and direct us as to Your plans, Your purposes in this. Use us as Your hands and feet to bring guidance, warmth, comfort and Your Word and peace to others. This mission is all for Your Glory.
  • I am thankful for the new books that I received in the mail yesterday so that I may dig deeper into God's Word and increase my prayer life with Him.
  • I am thankful that my son, Andrew, has taken the steps to further his education. In the turmoil of our lives when he was younger, he did not graduate from high school. He started taking classes last week to prepare for his GED so that he may attend college. This first class was basically placement tests. Last night, the teacher at these classes told him that he is already at college level, does not need to take the additional preparation classes and is ready to take the test. He was so excited that he called me on his drive home. What a boost in his confidence and the knowledge that yes, he does have the ability to accomplish this goal in his life. Yes, I am thrilled with this knowledge, also!!
  • I am thankful for my job. Yes, that was a hard one to even write. My job is mentally taxing and stressful from the minute I walk in the door to the minute I leave to come home. I have questioned whether or not this is the place where God wants me to be. But, I have come to realize and understand that God will use me wherever I am. I just need to be more conscious of His voice speaking to me through my day as to how to respond to certain situations--showing His love for others instead of my own frustrations. And in the state of our economy where many do not have work, I am thankful that my job is secure.
  • And lastly, I am thankful for God's creation. Did you see the moon last week? It was spectacular!! God in all His Glory shining His evening light!! And God saw that it was good!! If you didn't see the moon, check it out here. I "just happened" to have my camera with me and was able to catch a picture on my way to work.
So, tell me--what are you thankful for this week?

Beth

Yes the moon was so awesome! I have to comment with you on the job, I too have the same issue's, It's very stressful where I work, and the cussing whoaaaaa it's bad! I went home after work my eyes filled with tears, and told my husband, he said for me to pray for peace, let there be peace around my desk, that all of this hatred and cussing be gone... I did, and let me tell you for the last 3 years it's been so much better, they do all this now either in the back office or out in the warehouse! Praiseee Godddd.
He heard my prayer and cry's and it's gone.
I am so Thankful for you here!!!!
Have a blessed and Beautiful day my friend
Love,
Sharon

I'm thankful God opened my eyes so that I can "see" Him working in my world and I can say "yes" to His all and surrender everything to Him.

I pray for anyone in my life who doesn't have their eyes and ears opened.

Oh...I am thankful for salvation and my hope of eternal life that is now in me.

Jesus is everything to me.

Ohhh Beth...I'm in tears again!!!

At first...I rejoiced with you and said AMEN! The 2nd one brought great JOY because I knew that you would be sharing ALL you glean from these with me...right? Perhaps with all your readers in one form or another...your reflections.

But the 3rd one, brought me tears!
Tears and thanksgiving and even a SUPER WA HOO...or how is that...WOO HOO...or YAHOO, Bravo Andrew! I rejoice in your GREAT success & knowledge that God has blessed you with in response to many prayers but just because Andrew you are worth...all in this! Your education
from this point forward will be in God's Hands. Use it wisely. Gain knowledge but seek God's wisdom.
I delight with your mom and this indeed is a answer to your mom's heart and sets her free from any condemnation for things of the past that prevented you from attaining this in your regular days. But God is beginning to restore what the enemy robbed from all of you!

Well, I never made it to number 4 & 5 but I've seen the moon that reflects Jesus...the Son/sun of the day...shines Jesus lights into the darkness and breaks all chains. we are called to follow, hear, heed &
OBEY...(I forgot what Kay said was the last one but she wrote a beautiful lesson on hearing Our Shepherd...Ro-hí...= over at Thriving Christian...Awesome how God puts it all together! If we just listen and just do it! Amen.

Beautiful grateful heart and thankfulness beyond these pages.
I love how you worded this & look forward for ALL that lies ahead!
Thank you for the prayer & Thank You Lord, for the Prayer journal,
or better put THANKFUL journal, book of JOY & ANGEL from BETH!
I love You, Lord & thank You for blessing me with her friendship & her godly wisdom, strength & JOY
everlasting...keep on overflowing with more blessings on Beth, Andrew, Cara, Lindsey & me & all
the readers of Power of Your Love.

Hi Beth. New to your blog and came by way of Thankful Thursday. I can so relate to the joy you must feel about your son. My 2 year old Step-daughter is on a very similiar path. She talks about getting that GED and going on to culinary school. Her father and I pray everyday for the moment when we will finally see her talk turn into walk. Great post and I'll be back again.

God Bless you,
Cristine

Hi Beth! I am behind in my blog reading and just getting to this today. Your list is wonderful! I am especially happy for your son Andrew. That is really great. I hope he continues to get positive motivation to work toward his goal!
